Notes on the Job of High Priest.

The role of high priest is not a job that one takes for himself but rather one that is given. Hebrews 5:4 - 6 The position of the Aaronic high priest at the time of Christ on earth was in the hands of a family that bought the position. Obviously they were able to purchase control because it fit God's eternal plan.

Hebrews 7:21  makes it clear that Jesus was selected by God for the Priesthood in the Order of Melchisedec.
