Notes on "sat at meat"

In Luke 9:10 it uses the phrase "sat at meat". It comes from the Greek word anakeimai which means to recline while dining. Anakeimai suggests lying back against cushions while dining. It is usually a verb but in Matthew 22:10 - 11 it is used to describe one who sits at a meal or "Guest" as it is translated in the KJV.
