Notes on Judging

The warning in Matthew 7:1 - 2 is not an injunction not to judge but rather that the judging must be fair. There must be equal application of just laws (a cornerstone of civilization).

This is a warning to Christians that the standard we set is the standard that we must adhere to. Many Churches and people add to God's laws with their own societal or individual proscriptions. It is best to follow no more and no less than the Bible says.
