Notes on Grass in Ovens
In Mathew 6:30 the
phrase "cast into the oven" is used in
regards the "grass of the field". In
Palestine in Biblical times ovens were clay domes
where they would use a variety of fuels including
dried grass. The grass was often used as a
started fuel for use with less combustible fuels
such as dried dung.
