fattest of them, and smote 10 Moreover the LORD spake again unto Ahaz, saying, 11 Ask thee a sign of the LORD thy God; ask it either in the depth, or in the height above. 12 But Ahaz said, I will not ask, neither will I tempt the LORD. 7 Jesus answered him, "It is also written: `Do not put the Lord your God to the test.'" 12 And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. 10 Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear? 9 We should not test the Lord, as some of them did--and were killed by snakes. |
