Ramah

• Ramah is a village 5 miles north of Jerusalem. It is mentioned prominently in Jeremiah 31:15 and Matthew 2:18.

Receipt of Custom

• Custom from the Greek telonion means toll or tax and the "receipt of custom" was the place where taxes were paid.

Rend

• Matthew 7:6 "and rend you". Rend means to rip and tare asunder. A violent undoing or act of destruction and violence.

• Matthew 7:6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye pearls before swine, lest haply they trample them under their feet, and turn and rend you. As a note about rend in Mt 7:6 dogs and pigs can do serious bodily injury or death.

• To sincerely regret past actions while deciding to act better from that point onwards.

Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (M.A.), and the University of Strasbourg (Ph.D.). Dr. Rosenbladt has contributed to book projects such as Christianity for the Tough Minded, The Agony of Deceit, and Christ The Lord.
